NaI

RAIN was a community of enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and motivated individuals working together to solve some of the most challenging robotics problems in the world.

At its core were ten research institutions, led by the University of Manchester, each bringing their own expertise.

NAI:TL Γ-RAY SCINTILLATOR AND BRIGHTSPEC BMCA USB

Lancaster has a total of eight NaI:Tl γ-ray scintillator detectors each paired with a Brightspec bMCA USB MultiChannel Analyser. These measure the γ-ray radiation and perform γ-ray spectroscopy.

Technical Specifications:

  • Require USB connection, ROS Kinetic & Melodic ready. Almost plug-n-play for robot use.
  • Requires the user to run a single script. Achieves a ~8.0% resolution at 662keV.

Provides a detector/s for use on a robot, already ROS compatible for ease of use.
