February 2022: Unitree A1 robot evaluated In High Voltage laboratory

This week Dr Andy Weightman and Dr Vidyadhar Peesapati evaluated the Unitree A1 robot in the University of Manchester’s recently commissioned High Voltage laboratory. High Voltage facilities such as electrical substations are extreme environments and robotic systems have the potential to reduce risk to humans for inspection and maintenance activities by enabling teleoperation or autonomy. This initial feasibility testing has been successful with the researchers now evaluating the robots potential with respect to industry inspired challenges.
